Terms of Use
1.1These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and LUJJAH Tech Office, an establishment registered in the Commercial Register of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under unified national number 7055203348, of Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (we, us or our).
1.2Read these terms carefully. By using our website or the LIMA mobile application (LIMA), you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use our website or LIMA.
1.3The LIMA Subscription Terms, Refund and Cancellation Policy, Privacy Policy, Data Sources and Attribution, and Safety and Data Limitations Notice form part of these terms.
1.4If anything conflicts, this is the order that applies: first, your mandatory rights under the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; second, the document that deals with the subject specifically; third, these terms; fourth, the terms of the app store, which govern only the mechanics of purchase, payment, renewal, cancellation and store refunds.
1.5Time periods in these documents are counted in calendar days, unless a period is stated in working days.
2.1Some features need an account. Give accurate information and keep your login details secure. Tell us at once if your account is used without your permission.
2.2You can edit your profile picture, username, password, email address and mobile number at any time in the app.
2.3You can delete your account in the app, or by writing to us at info@lujjahtech.com. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you do.
2.4You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where the law requires it.
3.1We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use our website and LIMA under these terms, for your own information and trip planning, whether personal or in the course of your business, for as long as you keep an account or use LIMA and these terms have not ended. No other right is granted.
3.2You must not:
- use our website or LIMA for any unlawful purpose;
- scrape, bulk download or automatically extract any content;
- use any content to build or improve a competing dataset, map, application or service;
- reverse engineer any part of LIMA or its data, except to the extent the Copyright Law allows you to do so;
- interfere with the security or operation of our website or LIMA, except for security testing that the Copyright Law permits and that you report to us promptly; or
- present any content as an official, certified or government nautical chart.
3.3This clause does not restrict any right you hold under an open licence granted by a third party over content in LIMA. Those licences are listed on the Data Sources and Attribution page.
3.4You may not sell, rent, lease or charge others for LIMA content, or for anything derived from it, without our written permission.
3.5Nothing in these terms restricts any use that the Copyright Law or its Implementing Regulation allows without our permission.
3.6Where content derives from our survey data, our written permission under 3.4 is given only within the approvals of the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information and the purpose disclosed to it.
4.1In LIMA you can save your routes and positions. Apart from your profile picture, nothing else can be added.
4.2What you save is stored in your account on our servers. You keep ownership of it.
4.3By saving a route or a position, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store it, use it, adapt it and combine it with other data, for our surveys, our statistics and the improvement of LIMA. The licence lasts for as long as we hold the data.
4.4If you delete a saved route or position, or delete your account, we stop using it and remove it. Two things survive: material we have already published, where it has been anonymised as the Privacy Policy explains, and statistics that no longer identify anyone.
4.5We may publish saved routes in LIMA as a corridor. A corridor is a band about 200 metres wide covering water that boats have passed through. We do not publish your exact track, and we remove your name, username, account and contact details. We publish only what meets our criteria, and we may decline to publish anything or remove it at any time.
4.6When you save a route or a position, you confirm that you are entitled to save it and that it contains no personal data of any other person.
5.1LIMA IS FOR INFORMATION ONLY. IT IS NOT A CERTIFIED CHART AND IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR OFFICIAL CHARTS OR SAFE NAVIGATION PRACTICE. DO NOT RELY ON LIMA AS YOUR ONLY MEANS OF NAVIGATION. USE OF AND RELIANCE ON LIMA IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
5.2Carry official charts wherever the law requires them.
5.3The Safety and Data Limitations Notice sets out the limits of each type of information and your responsibilities.
6.1The software, maps, 3D models, database structure and design of our website and LIMA, and the names LUJJAH Tech, LIMA and Underwater Reveal, belong to us or to our licensors, as far as the law protects them.
6.2Some content comes from third parties and is used under their licences, listed on the Data Sources and Attribution page. We are not responsible for content provided by third parties.
6.3If you believe content in LIMA infringes your rights, write to info@lujjahtech.com with your details, the right concerned, where the content is, and a statement that you own or represent the right and act in good faith. We remove or disable infringing content within 48 working hours of a complete notice. A user whose content is removed may send a counter-notice, which we pass on to the person who sent the notice within 2 working days. We restrict or close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe.
7.1Our website and LIMA may link to services we do not control. We are not responsible for those services, their content or their privacy practices.
8.1We do not sell products through our website. Surveys, monitoring, 3D models and other deliverables are produced only on request, under a separate written contract with the client. Survey deliverables are provided in formats that are not tied to any single program.
8.2Where a 3D model is produced, part of the work may be carried out by a third party on our behalf, with the approvals the law requires where the model is made from survey data.
8.3Underwater Reveal is not sold separately. It is included with a LIMA subscription, provided to a client on request, or made available at a location, for example through a QR code.
8.4We carry out survey, monitoring, mapping and geospatial platform activities, including LIMA, only under the licences and permits the competent authorities require.
8.5Underwater imagery and 3D seabed content that we produce are made available only after the approvals required for filming and for publishing marine and coastal environmental data have been obtained. No content we make available shows prohibited, security or military areas.
9.1We provide our website and LIMA with reasonable care and skill.
9.2Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, everything is provided as it stands. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, error free or fit for any particular purpose.
10.1Nothing in these terms removes or limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia do not allow to be limited or excluded.
10.2Subject to the paragraph above, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost data or business interruption. This does not limit our responsibility for protecting your personal data.
10.3If you use LIMA in the course of a business and have no separate written contract with us, the paragraph above applies to you in full, and our liability to you is limited to the amounts you have paid us.
10.4Clients of commissioned work and government entities are governed by their own written contracts.
11.1If a third party brings a claim against us because you breached these terms in a material way, or used our website or LIMA unlawfully, you will cover our reasonable documented losses and costs arising from that claim.
11.2This does not apply to anything caused by our own negligence, wilful misconduct or breach.
12.1We may add or improve features at any time.
12.2We will give notice of at least 30 days, in the app and by email, before a material change to these terms, to any document that forms part of them, or to what a paid tier includes. If you do not accept the change, you may stop using LIMA and cancel any subscription before it takes effect. Where a change adds a purpose that relies on your consent, we ask for that consent separately and do not treat continued use as consent.
12.3We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms. If you end your agreement with us, your licence to use LIMA ends, and the clauses listed in the General clause continue to apply.
13.1We are not responsible for a failure or delay in providing LIMA that is caused by an event outside our reasonable control. This includes severe weather, unsafe sea conditions, port or government restrictions, failure of a communications network or a third-party service, and natural disaster. This does not affect your rights under 13.3.
13.2If such an event continues for a long period, either of us may end the agreement.
13.3If LIMA's paid features are unavailable for more than 15 days for a reason other than force majeure, you may end your subscription and recover what you paid for the current subscription period. We tell you as soon as we expect a delay or difficulty that materially affects LIMA.
14.1These terms, the documents listed in clause 1.3, and our electronic advertisements for LIMA, which form part of the contract under the E-Commerce Law, are the entire agreement between us on their subject. If we do not enforce a right, we do not give it up. If any provision is invalid, the rest continues in force.
14.2You may not transfer these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them.
14.3Clauses on our content, the routes and positions you save, our liability, your responsibility to us, language and governing law continue after these terms end.
15.1These terms are published in Arabic and English. If the two differ, the Arabic version prevails.
16.1These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The competent courts in Jeddah have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
16.2Where a government entity uses LIMA under a separate written agreement, that agreement governs its use.
17.1Contact us at info@lujjahtech.com or +966 56 895 4847.
17.2We acknowledge a complaint within 3 working days with a reference number, and give a full response within 10 working days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Ministry of Commerce through the Commercial Report app (بلاغ تجاري) or on 1900, quoting that number. Complaints about personal data may also be made to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, as the Privacy Policy explains. Complaints about personal data are answered within the periods in Privacy Policy 9.2.
18.1Version 1.2. Changes to this document and to every other document in this set are notified under the Changes clause of the Terms of Use. Every version is kept on record.
LIMA Subscription Terms
1.1These terms apply to LIMA subscriptions and add to the Terms of Use.
2.1LIMA has three tiers: GO, NAV and X. What each tier includes is shown in the app, and Underwater Reveal is included with the tiers that list it.
2.2LIMA is free at present. We may introduce charges and change our prices. Any price is shown in the app store before you subscribe, and the price shown there includes any tax that applies.
2.3We give notice before a material change to what a paid tier includes, as set out in the Terms of Use.
3.1Subscriptions are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play (each an app store). The app store's terms apply to your purchase.
3.2Those terms govern the mechanics of purchase, payment, renewal, cancellation and store refunds. They do not affect your mandatory rights under the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which prevail.
3.3The app store takes your payment. We never receive or store your card details.
3.4Where you obtain LIMA from the Apple App Store, Apple is not a party to these terms but may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for LIMA, and no warranty obligation in respect of it. We, not Apple, are responsible for LIMA, for any claim that it infringes a third party's rights, and for answering your questions about it.
4.1LIMA is free during early access, and nobody is charged during it. Before charging begins we will give notice of at least 30 days in the app and by email.
4.2After early access ends, a new subscriber gets one free trial of 7 days. Before it starts we show its length, the price and the date of the first charge. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing. If you do not cancel, the trial becomes a paid subscription on that date.
4.3Trial eligibility is applied by the app store under its own rules, so it is granted once per store account.
5.1Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them. Cancel through your app store account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep access until then.
5.2We will give at least 30 days' notice before a price change applies to your subscription. You may cancel before it applies.
6.1We may offer free access for a limited time, discounts and promo codes. Each offer states its own conditions and its exact start and end dates, and those dates bind us. We offer a discount only after obtaining any licence the Ministry of Commerce requires for it, and only on the terms of that licence.
6.2At the end of a promotional period you are charged the normal price unless you cancel first.
6.3Subscribers who are paying receive no extension, credit or refund for a period in which free access is offered to others.
7.1Access to paid features stops, and files downloaded through a paid tier stop working. Routes and positions you saved stay in your account.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
1.1Subscriptions are bought through an app store, so refunds are handled by that store under its refund policy.
1.2Where the app store does not refund, subscription payments are non-refundable and no credit is given for an unused period, except where the law requires otherwise. This includes a refund under Terms of Use 13.3.
1.3Cancel during the free trial and you pay nothing.
1.4This policy does not affect your mandatory rights under the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2.1Surveys, 3D models and other commissioned deliverables are not sold through our website. Payment, cancellation and refunds for that work are set out in the contract with the client.
3.1For subscriptions, ask your app store. For anything else, contact us at info@lujjahtech.com. We handle your request within the times set out in the Complaints and contact clause of the Terms of Use.
Privacy Policy
1.1The controller of your personal data is LUJJAH Tech Office, an establishment registered in the Commercial Register of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under unified national number 7055203348, of Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (we, us or our). This policy follows the Personal Data Protection Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its implementing regulations, issued by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority.
1.2We carry out hydrographic survey work and provide the LIMA app, which shows dive and coastal sites, depth, weather and corridors to boat users and divers. Privacy contact: info@lujjahtech.com, +966 56 895 4847.
- Account details: name or username, email address, mobile number and profile picture.
- Service data: what is needed to run the app, such as your settings and subscription status.
- Routes and positions you save: the route or position, and the time it was saved.
- Subscriptions: the app store takes your payment and sends us a confirmation. We never receive your card details.
- Location: your device position is used on your device to show you on the map. It reaches us only when you choose to save a route or a position.
- Map requests: the map is served from our own server, so when you move the map your device asks us for map tiles. Those requests tell us your IP address and roughly which area you are looking at.
- Messages: what you send us.
- Visitor statistics: counted on our website without cookies and without identifying you.
2.1LIMA contains no analytics, crash reporting or advertising software from other companies.

3.2If you do not give the data marked Required, we cannot create your account or provide LIMA. Optional data can be left out without losing access to LIMA.
4.1We never publish your personal information, and we never sell it.
4.2We do not publish your exact track. Where a saved route is published, it is published as a corridor about 200 metres wide covering water that boats have passed through, with your name, username, account and contact details removed.
4.3We use your personal information to run your account and the app. We send you marketing messages only if you consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
4.4We report on how LIMA is used in the form of statistics, which do not identify anyone.
5.1We share personal data only with:
- the app store that sells your subscription;
- our hosting provider, which stores the data for us;
- our email provider, so we can write to you;
- our visitor statistics provider for our website, which does not identify you; and
- a government entity or other competent authority, where the law requires it or where the authority requests it under the law.
5.2We name each of these providers and the country it operates from on request. Write to info@lujjahtech.com. Providers receive data regularly while they provide their service. Government entities receive it only occasionally, where the law requires it or a specific lawful request is made.
5.3We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Our weather provider receives site coordinates only, never your position.
6.1Your data is stored on servers we use online, and it remains under our control.
6.2We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Law and its implementing regulations. Where we process data belonging to a government entity under a contract, we also follow the National Data Management and Personal Data Protection Standards issued by the National Data Management Office of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority. Data we process for a Saudi government entity is stored and processed only inside the Kingdom, with a cloud provider registered with the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, and is never transferred outside the Kingdom, including for backup.
6.3Subject to 6.2, a transfer outside the Kingdom is made only for a purpose the Personal Data Protection Law permits, where it does not harm national security or the Kingdom's vital interests, and either where the destination provides an adequate level of protection and the data is limited to the minimum necessary, or under the appropriate safeguards set by the Regulation on Personal Data Transfer outside the Kingdom.
7.1You can edit your account details at any time in the app.
7.2You can delete your account at any time in the app, or by writing to info@lujjahtech.com. When you do, we destroy your personal information. Before acting on a request sent by email we verify that it comes from the account holder. We destroy personal data by secure deletion from our live systems so that it cannot be viewed, recovered or linked to you. Copies held in backups are destroyed when the backups are overwritten. We ask our providers to destroy their copies.
7.3Routes and positions that we have already published stay published only where they have been anonymised so that no one can be identified from them, alone or combined with other data. Records that the law requires us to keep, such as tax and zakat records, are kept for the period the law sets, and inside the Kingdom or accessible from it, as those laws require.
- Essential: keep you signed in to the app, remember your settings and protect the service. These need no consent.
- Visitor statistics: no cookie is used and no visitor is identified.
- Advertising: we use no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. We measure our adverts with campaign codes and tagged links, which send no personal data to advertising platforms.
9.1You may ask to know how your data is used, to see it and get a copy, to have it corrected, to have it destroyed when it is no longer needed, and to withdraw consent. Contact info@lujjahtech.com. If you suffer material or moral harm because the Personal Data Protection Law or its regulations have been breached, you may claim compensation before the competent court.
9.2We respond within 30 days. Where the law permits, we may extend that period by up to a further 30 days, and we will tell you before we do and why.
9.3If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, or object to it, write to info@lujjahtech.com. We reply within the periods in 9.2. If you are not satisfied, or we do not reply in time, you may complain to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority through the National Data Governance Platform (dgp.sdaia.gov.sa).
10.1We use appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect personal data.
10.2If a personal data breach is likely to harm you or your rights, we notify the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it. If your personal data is breached, we tell you and the Ministry of Commerce within 3 days of becoming aware of it, and we explain the scope of the breach, its effects and the measures we have taken. We also notify any other authority that the law requires us to notify.
Data Sources and Attribution
1.1Every item in LIMA keeps its source, standard, date, uncertainty and datum.
1.2Each survey position and depth states its horizontal and vertical reference. Regional depth from other sources may be on a different vertical reference and must not be compared directly with survey depth.
1.3Nothing is shown as surveyed by us unless it is labelled as LUJJAH Tech survey data.
1.4Depth not measured by acoustic survey, including depth from imaging, satellite or aerial imagery, video, modelling or interpolation, is never shown as surveyed depth. Such depth is shown only where it was produced under the licences and permits the law requires.
1.5LIMA labels data as LUJJAH Tech survey data only where it was collected under a hydrographic survey permit from the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information, and publishes it only after the approvals the law requires. The permit and approval references are kept with each dataset.
2.1Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License. Basemap schema © OpenMapTiles, openmaptiles.org, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence.
2.2The credit © OpenMapTiles © OpenStreetMap contributors appears in the corner of the map.
2.3Boundaries shown on the basemap come from OpenStreetMap and are not official boundaries.
3.1Regional depth: GEBCO Grid, GEBCO Compilation Group.
3.2The GEBCO grid is interpolated from measured data, so its spatial resolution may differ significantly from the measurements behind it. It must not be used for navigation or for any purpose involving safety at sea. Its use in LIMA implies no endorsement by GEBCO, the IHO or the IOC.
4.1Weather data by Open-Meteo.com, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) licence. Open-Meteo combines forecasts from national weather services.
4.2Wave forecasts are generated using E.U. Copernicus Marine Service Information.
5.1Site positions are third-party records, used with permission where required. They are not positions surveyed by us.
5.2Showing a site in LIMA does not mean it is designated or approved by the Saudi Red Sea Authority or the Border Guard, or that any activity is permitted there.
5.3LIMA's own site records and survey layers do not show the details of sites that national geospatial data policy classifies as sensitive. Marine installations, desalination plants and power stations are shown in them, if at all, by their general name only.
5.4Wrecks and other historical objects found in our surveys are reported to the competent authorities before their positions are shown.
6.1Routes shown in LIMA come from navigation records of previous boat trips, and from routes users have saved in the app.
6.2A route is published as a corridor about 200 metres wide, not as an exact track, and identifying details are removed before publication. A route is published only where it meets our criteria.
6.3What a corridor does and does not tell you is set out in the Safety and Data Limitations Notice.
7.1Reference images are used with the permission of their rights holders or under a licence, and each is credited to its author and source.
Safety and Data Limitations Notice
1.1LIMA REPORTS SEA AND WEATHER CONDITIONS. IT NEVER TELLS YOU WHETHER IT IS SAFE TO SET OUT. THAT DECISION IS YOURS.
1.2LIMA is not a certified nautical chart and is not a substitute for official charts or safe navigation practice.
2.1The position LIMA shows can be wrong. The error comes from your device's satellite positioning (GPS), from the map data, and from the site records, which are third-party positions. Keep a safe margin.
3.1The line between two dive or coastal sites shows direction and distance only. It does not avoid reefs, shallow water, hazards or weather, or prohibited or restricted waters, such as ports and approach channels, marine, industrial, military and petroleum installations, desalination and power plants, fisheries research stations, or other places the Border Guard designates. It is not a safe track.
4.1A route is shown as a corridor, a band about 200 metres wide covering water that boats have passed through. It is not an exact track and it is not a safe route.
4.2Boats have not passed through every part of a corridor. There may be reef, shallow water or other hazards inside it.
4.3A corridor used before may not suit your boat or today's conditions, because vessel size, draught, tide and sea state all differ.
4.4A corridor in LIMA is not a navigation lane set by the Border Guard or a route set by the Saudi Red Sea Authority. It does not show prohibited or restricted waters, such as ports and approach channels, marine, industrial, military and petroleum installations, desalination and power plants, fisheries research stations, or other places the Border Guard designates. Keep to the navigation lanes the Border Guard sets and to the area and times in your sailing permit.
4.5A corridor or site may lie over coral, seagrass, a protected area or an area where navigation or anchoring is restricted. Never anchor on coral or seagrass, and do not enter restricted or protected areas without the required approval or permit.
5.1Each survey depth carries its date, its stated uncertainty and its horizontal and vertical reference.
5.2Read the datum before you use a depth. A depth on one datum is not the same as a depth on another, and the difference can be as large as the tidal range.
5.3Regional depth from GEBCO is interpolated, of low spatial resolution, and may be on a different vertical reference. It must not be used for navigation.
6.1Weather figures are forecasts produced by models for a point offshore, not measurements at the site. Conditions at sea change quickly.
7.1Water quality and other sensor results are measurements with a stated uncertainty. They are not a certification of compliance with any regulation. They are shown only where the monitoring was carried out under the environmental licence it requires and its publication has been approved.
7.2Water quality results, seabed imagery and 3D models made from data collected at sea are published only where the data was collected under the permit of the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information and the Authority has approved their publication, and, where the work is marine scientific research, with the approval of the competent authorities.
8.1Use your own judgment, official charts, local knowledge and current weather information. Sail with a skipper who holds a valid Border Guard marine craft driving licence, obtain the Border Guard's sailing permit before you set out, and follow recognised dive safety practice. You are responsible at all times for your conduct and its consequences.
8.2Showing a dive site in LIMA does not mean diving is permitted there. Dive only where diving is permitted, with a valid diving licence and a dive permit obtained through the Border Guard centre of your beach or marina. Do not dive alone, fly the alpha flag, and never remove coral or shells.
8.3Landing on an island needs the Border Guard's prior written permission.
8.4If your boat or anchor touches coral or hits marine wildlife, report it at once to the competent environmental authority, for example on the unified environmental reports number 988.
Who owns what, and what is never shared.
Ownership and confidentiality are set by the contract for each project. The position below is the default we work from.
Where data is classified, including government and defence work, it is treated as confidential in full. It is not published to the platform, not used in marketing, and not included in any public or subscriber facing product. Handling follows the terms of the engaging authority.
Ownership and permitted use are agreed in writing before mobilisation. Elements of a survey may be marked confidential by the client and are then withheld on the same terms as classified work.
Depth data is never treated as confidential in itself. Safe navigation depends on depth being known, and LUJJAH Tech will not enter an arrangement that suppresses it.
Charts, three dimensional models and immersive products built by LUJJAH Tech from a survey remain LUJJAH Tech property, and LUJJAH Tech retains the right to present them, subject to the confidentiality position agreed for the underlying data.
Method, standard, date and uncertainty are stored with every product and travel with it wherever it is presented.
This is a plain summary of our default position, not a contract and not legal advice. The binding terms are those in the signed agreement for each project, which should be reviewed by your own counsel.
